Step into Spring in North Conway

Mar 23 2022

There's always plenty to do!

North Conway in spring, when the blanket of snow melts away to rushing waterfalls and that fresh spring air you can almost taste. With the warmer weather comes new opportunity to get outside and explore. There’s something for everyone in the White Mountains, from hiking and biking to shopping and splashing, you’ll be in the center of it all at Red Jacket Mountain View Resort.

The Parks

Coasters and carousels and cars, oh my! Story Land and Santa’s Village are the two beloved, themed amusement parks in the area. Childhood’s favorite storybooks are brought to life and Christmas cheer is spread all year at these timeless treasures. Both parks will be opening in late May 2021 and will require advance ticket purchase. Be sure to call ahead to reserve.

The Rails

Take to the tracks to explore the White Mountains. Climb Mount Washington aboard the only Cog Railway in North America and take in the majesty of the Presidential Range. Or, take a journey back in time to experience the thrill of the Golden Age of American railroad travel aboard the Conway Scenic Railroad.

The Trails

Whether by foot or by bike, the White Mountains offer endless trails to explore. With a variety of Hiking Trails from short and easy to long and challenging, there’s a trail for every age. Enjoy the scenic vistas and roaring waterfalls along the way. Or, rent some Bikes and pedal through beautiful meadows, past scenic rivers, and stop for splendid mountain panoramas. For a truly unique, hands-on experience, hit the trails aboard the rolling dog sleds with Muddy Paw adventures.

Conway Scenic Railroad

The Covered Road

Enjoy a scenic drive along the Kancamagus Highway, designated an American Scenic Byway and boasting several waterfall stops. Explore the iconic covered bridges of the area. Dating back to the 1800’s, there are sixty six covered bridges (with all but 2 still functional) in New Hampshire and six in the North Conway area. The Swift River Bridge is one of the most photogenic in the state.

The Shops

New Hampshire is a shoppers’ tax-free haven and North Conway is the outlet capital of the state! Settlers Green is in the heart of town and offers 70 outlets and retail stores as well as local boutiques. Beyond the outlets, explore Main Street in North Conway Village with the famous Zeb’s General Store and the Bavarian Chocolate Haus, plus art galleries, boutique shops and restaurants galore.

The Syrup

Spring is syrup season in New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Maple Producers Association organizes maple madness weekends in the spring to promote this proud tradition. Visit local sugarhouses, learn more about the tapping process and grab a little golden goodness to bring home.

Kahuna Laguna Indoor Water Park

The Splash

What visit to North Conway would be complete without splashing and playing in Red Jacket Mountain View’s very own Kahuna Laguna indoor water park. Zoom down the three-story tubes, get soaked under the water umbrella, and ride the waves in the pool. It’s always 84 degrees and the wild surf and heavy downpours are all part of the fun!
