Fun things to do for all ages this spring
Spring into action this spring on Cape Cod.
It may still be cold outside, but spring is just around the corner. It’s a glorious time of year to visit the Cape. Breathe the crisp spring air while strolling along the quiet beaches, hike or bike one of the many scenic trails, explore shops just opening their doors for the season, savor a myriad of flavors at local restaurants and enjoy some fun activities featured around the Cape.
As we will be welcoming guests back to our beautiful Red Jacket Resorts in no time, we’d like to share some of our favorite activities of the season to help you start planning your spring getaway!
1. Cape Cod Museum Trail
Plan to visit a variety of museums along the trail from its tip at the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown to Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich. Enjoy history, nature, art and more along the Cape Cod Museum Trail. Visit their website to start planning.
2. Whale Watching
Season opens April 17, 2021
The North Atlantic Right Whales are already showing off in the waters off Cape Cod. Over half of the world’s population of Right Whales visit our Cape Cod waters every winter and spring. Come witness these majestic creatures up close and without the tourist crowds of the summer. Guaranteed sightings and guaranteed fun. Learn more about whale watching here.
3. Biking along the Cape Cod Rail Trail
Whether cruising along the paved paths or venturing through the wooded trails, the Cape’s bike paths offer a variety of experiences, all sprinkled with stunning Cape panoramas. For ideas on where to ride in Yarmouth, click here. Bike Zone in South Yarmouth and Barb's Bike Shop in South Dennis are both conveniently located along the Rail Trail and offer rentals as well as delivery.
4. Cape Cod Museum of Art Shows
March 18 - June 20, 2021
In addition to the museum's beautiful collection, visit for two limited time shows:
INSIGHTS - through June 20, 2021. A National Juried Exhibition showcasing work from 60 artists across the country
CREATURE COMFORTS - through May 2, 2021. Examining the art of "what gives us comfort" in this time of the COVID pandemic.

5. APRIL VACATION at our Red Jacket Beach Resort
April 16 - 25, 2021
We’re excited to kick-off our season and dive into our Spring Break Activities. We’ll be featuring live animal and magic shows, movie nights, cookie decorating, and poolside bingo at our indoor heated pool. When you’re staying at Red Jacket Resorts, life CAN be all fun and games!
6. Heritage Museum & Gardens
Opening day April 24, 2021
A feast for the senses, colorful blooms, fragrant flowers, singing birds and endless discoveries, immerse yourself in the experience that is Heritage. Brimming with serene walking trails, outdoor exploration, art and history exhibits, an antique working carousel, impressive antique car collection and endless gardens, Heritage is a beloved attraction for old and young alike. 7. Spring Golf
The days are longer and the sun is a little warmer - it's a great time to hit the links! Our Blue Rock Golf Course is just minutes away. Our award-winning par-3 course is well known for welcoming new golfers while also challenging experienced golfers along its 18 holes, complete with four holes over water and beautiful landscaping throughout. This spring, brush up on your golf skills with an adult or junior golf school, ladies’ clinic or private lesson at Blue Rock Golf Course.
8. 35th Annual Brewster In Bloom
april 30 - may 2, 2021
The explosion of bright yellow daffodils is at the heart of this beloved weekend festival. This year's festival will be different, but still a joyous celebration. Featuring the new Brewster Cultural Trail, virtual kids’ fests, virtual artisans showcase, virtual band concert, a 5k road race, and the Brewster in Bloom Lawn Display Contest. 9. 50th Figawi Race Weekend
May 28 - 31, 2021
It’s the unofficial kick-off to summer! With over 240 boats and 3,000 participants, you won't want to miss the annual Figawi Race over Memorial Day Weekend. The race begins in Lewis Bay and can best be seen from Kalmus Beach, but those staying at our Green Harbor Resort can catch a glimpse from our beach as well. 10. Scenic Hikes
Enjoy nature, history, and exercise on a Cape Cod hike. By exploring the Cape on foot, you’ll enjoy many vantage points inaccessible by car. Explore gorgeous vistas and scenery and get up close to old sea captain's homes that can’t possibly be fully appreciated from a drive. Here are some wonderful hiking trails all just minutes from our resorts. Or, take a drive to the lower Cape and the historic Cape Cod National Seashore with 12 walking trails and miles of stunning shores.
