Best Dates for the Best Rates on Cape Cod
Have we got a deal for you! We're excited to share with you the best dates to reserve rooms with the best rates and a few insider tips from our Reservations Center.
Guests often call to ask us what dates offer the best deals at our Cape Cod resorts. If you're flexible with your vacation plans, there are definitely some ideal times to reserve for the best availability and lowest rates – and you may be surprised by a few of them! So grab a calendar and make a note of these dates and tips for the best deals.
What could be better than the 4th of July on Cape Cod, you ask? Quite possibly, the sweet summer days immediately following this famous holiday, from July 8th through 14th . This time frame is actually a hidden gem in the form of a summer time lull (surprising, right?). The days following July 4th are typically a mass exodus of vacationers, hanging up their patriotic barbecue aprons and trekking back home to return to work. Experience prime summer beach weather and participate in all the resort activities which are in full swing.
Are you looking for the best value of the entire summer? Make a reservation for August 26th -30th. The influx of summer visitors is winding down and the weather is beautiful, so treat your family to one last getaway before the school year sneaks up on you. Take advantage of great rates while skillfully avoiding Labor Day weekend (or Cape Cod's last hurrah as we know it!)
Summer Tip: Arrive on a Sunday
Vacationing on the Cape in July or August? When planning your visit, we highly recommend arranging a Sunday arrival. Most summer rentals are booked from Saturday to Saturday, creating the dreaded Saturday “changeover” traffic. So, by scheduling your trip with a Sunday start you can be sure to beat the traffic and promptly park yourself on the beach rather than on the bridge!
Summer Tip: One Resort = Five Resorts
If you'd like to take advantage of the private beaches or indoor pools at one of our oceanfront resorts, and would like to maximize the value of your visit, here's the trick. Stay at our most reasonably priced (and beautiful) Blue Rock Resort, located on our award-winning golf course in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood and when you want to go to one of our private beaches or indoor pools, just drive a few miles down the road to our oceanfront resorts. This is easy to do because guests staying at any one of Cape resorts also have access to the amenities and activities of all five of our Red Jacket Resorts due to a “resort reciprocity” program offered at no extra cost. Guests of Blue Rock Resort return year after year to enjoy the lovely surroundings and heated outdoor pool, delicious dining at the casual Grill Room and drinks in the relaxing lounge. The views of the golf course are an added plus (and soon the Cape Cod Rail Trail will bring miles of paved bike paths very close to the resort!)
Bonus Seasons: Spring and Fall
These times are considered “shoulder seasons” and were once the best-kept secrets on the Cape, but the secret is out and you'll quickly see the advantages of visiting in the spring or the fall. Enjoy all that the Cape has to offer along with a slower, more relaxed pace. Skip out on traffic at the bridge and along route 28! Seasonal shops, local restaurants and attractions are open but not as busy. In fact most seasonal restaurants (think fish and chips, ice cream, etc.) are open by mid-April and don't close until late October. Explore new beaches and trails without worrying about crowded roadways and parking lots. And the weather is perfect for taking a long walk on the beach, exploring the Cape Cod National Seashore or biking on the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
