Spring has finally sprung on the Cape and businesses are opening their doors for the 2018 season, bringing ice cream, beach gear and delicious seafood to everyone!

Here’s a list of some of our all-time favorites and others that are brand new.

Ice Cream Smuggler: Staying at Blue Water, Riviera or Red Jacket Beach Resort? Hop in the car and take a short drive to Cape Cod Bay and this popular Dennis ice cream shop on Rt. 6A, which is celebrating its 40th season. Enjoy favorite flavors like maple walnut, French raspberry truffle or grasshopper mint oreo!

Kream ‘N Kone: Stop by for some the best fried seafood in West Dennis, and only 4 miles from our resorts on South Shore Drive! Travel eastbound on Rt. 28 to Rt. 134 and it’s right there on the corner. The restaurant has been recognized for having the best clams and onion rings and also serves ice cream, burgers and hot dogs.

Cooke’s Seafood: Heading into Hyannis? Started by two brothers over 40 years ago, the next generation now operates one of Hyannis’ most popular family-friendly seafood restaurants, ensuring that the quality and taste of the food is the same for customers year after year. It’s only a 10 minute drive from Green Harbor Resort onto Rt. 132, well worth the trip when you get to enjoy fresh clams, lobster rolls, salmon and haddock! It’s also close to the Cape’s major shopping area, including the Cape Cod Mall.

Dairy Queen: Located just over a mile from Red Jacket Beach, Blue Water and Riviera Resorts on Rt. 28, Dairy Queen is the perfect place for an afternoon or evening “blizzard”, ice cream or sundae, if you don’t want to go too far from the resorts.  Up for some fun? Go across the street and try the arcade, batting cages, go-karts and mini-golf at the Skull Island Sports Park!

The Knack: It’s a bit of a drive, but it’s worth it! If you’re headed out to Nauset Beach, Provincetown or the Cape Cod National Seashore, you’ll want to stop at The Knack in Orleans first (it’s on the way) for an all-natural burger, fries, onion rings, lobster roll or fried clams at the well-known roadside stand. Two of our favorites are the avocado burgers and the delicious thick chocolate peanut butter milkshake.

Kandy Korner: You can’t miss the two-story A-frame shop with the green and white awning and porch on Hyannis’ Main Street, across from emBargo restaurant , less than 3 miles from Green Harbor Resort.  Watch the staff make fudge while you shop for an assortment of candy, souvenirs and ice cream. There really is something for everyone!

The Local Juice: You don’t have to go too far to find a location for healthy and delicious choices while on vacation. Located just down the street from Kandy Korner, The Local Juice features a variety of nutritionally crafted, organic, cold-pressed juices and smoothies with ingredients that include fruit, vegetables, almond milk, coconut milk, parsley and chia seeds. Be sure to check out their grain bowls, sandwiches, daily specials and pantry items too!

Caffe Gelato Bertini: The gelato shop is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a new location in Yarmouth on South Street, less than a mile from Blue Water and Riviera Resorts and right next door to Great Island Bakery. The gelato and sorbetto is made from scratch on-site and customers will also be able to enjoy espresso. The shop opens on May 3rd.

Captain Frosty’s : A staple in Dennis for over 40 years, fish and chips is one of the most popular dishes at Captain Frosty’s. Staying at Blue Rock Resort? Head north to Rt. 6A for the 7 minute drive to the restaurant. Add another 7 minutes to your travel if you’re coming from our South Shore Drive properties. Grab a booth inside or relax under a shady oak on their patio while you eat favorites like a 5 oz. angus burger, premium jumbo lobster rolls, clam cakes and day-boat scallops.  They open for the 2018 season on April 12th.

Sundae School: Since opening the first location in Dennis Port in 1976, Sundae School has expanded to locations in Harwich and Orleans, which serve everything from ice cream and sundaes to pies, floats and frappes. It’s about a 14 minute drive down Rt. 28 and Lower County Road from Blue Water, Red Jacket Beach and Riviera Resorts and even closer to Blue Rock Resort. All ice cream is homemade and includes options like nut free, sugar free and dairy free. All Sundae School locations open in May.

Krista K’s: Love anything with sugar? Then you’re going to love Krista K’s Ice Cream on Rt. 28 in West Dennis. Only 4 miles from the resorts on South Shore Drive, the shop has over 60 different soft serve and over 40 hard serve ice cream flavors. You can also choose some taffy, fudge and candy! Their menu includes specialty sundaes, big train drinks, ice cream cookie sandwiches and more. Krista K’s opens for the season on May 4th.

Ten Pin Eatery: Cape Cod’s newest attraction combines dining, bowling and entertainment all in one location at the Cape Cod Mall in Hyannis. Operated by Ryan Family Amusements, the new destination includes a 300-seat restaurant and bar, 11 lanes of Ten Pin bowling, a laser tag arena and an arcade! The Ten Pin Eatery opens on April 9th.

The Pheasant: Previously known as “The Red Pheasant Inn”, the restaurant is under new ownership, with a focus on more dishes that offer a unique Cape Cod identity influenced by classic New England flavors. Executive Chef Toby Hill brings his culinary skills and expertise to the well-known eatery. It’s on Rt. 6A in Dennis, only an 8 mile drive from the resorts on South Shore Drive and 5 miles from Blue Rock Resort. The Pheasant opens in late May.

Baxter’s Fish ‘N Chips: One of the oldest Cape Cod restaurants is located in Hyannis and overlooks Hyannis Harbor. It’s only 2 miles from Green Harbor Resort, the seafood is fresh every day, sit inside or outside and you’ll have the best views of the ferry boats going to and from the islands as well as commercial fishing boats unloading their catch! Try their award-winning seafood, chicken fingers, fried mozzarella and clam chowder. Opens for the 2018 season on April 13th.

The Skipper Chowder House: One of Cape Cod’s oldest waterfront restaurants sits on South Shore Drive with great views of Nantucket Sound. Located between Red Jacket Beach Resort and Blue Water and Riviera Resort on South Shore Drive, the Skipper is known for its award-winning chowder, sandwiches, scallops and burgers. The restaurant opens in mid-April.
