The Sous Chef will report directly to the Chef and is instrumental in the presentation, quality, and success for our food operation. Our dining operation includes high-volume venues where quality is number one.
The ideal Sous Chef candidate must be outgoing, good with stressful situations, and have an overall general knowledge of food and sanitation. The main objective is guest satisfaction and personnel relationships.
The Sous Chef must be neat, organized, and have a willingness to work well with and be able to teach others. The sous chef serves as the executive chef’s direct assistant. When required to, the sous chef also fills in for and/or assists the line cooks to make sure that the kitchen runs smoothly.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to being in charge when the executive chef is off duty, helping the executive chef select and train kitchen staff, assisting with the planning of menus and meals and overseeing the preparation and service of food.
Seasonal positions vary, with end dates from Labor Day through October 30.
